Memorial Day tributes announced

SANDPOINT — A host of Memorial Day tributes are planned for Monday.

In Sandpoint, Memorial Day services at Pinecrest Cemetery will begin at 9 a.m. and at 11 a.m. at Lakeview. Honors will be rendered by the Marine Corps League honors detail.

Friends, family and especially veterans are invited to attend the annual Memorial Day service at Seneacquoteen Cemetery.

Services begin at 8 a.m. and veterans are invited to participate in the ceremony.

The cemetery is located nine miles from Highway 95 on W. Dufort Road.

As all labor is voluntary, funds are needed to pay for gas, etc. for the Seneacquoteen ceremony. All donations are gratefully accepted, organizers said.

In East Hope, the city will hold a dedication for its Veteran Memorial Wall at 1 p.m. Memorial Day at the East Hope City Park across from Davis Market & Cafe.

The wall is also part of a larger project for the park, which is still being completed.
