After being laid off, Loren responded to an ad in the Sandpoint newspaper in the spring of 1985 for a position at Bird Space Technology where he spent approximately 31 years working. During this time, he built quite the relationship with Dr. Forest Bird, built a runway, museum, multiple hangers and maintained the ranch. Currently, Loren was working for Percussionaire in Ponderay, Idaho.
