City is being deceptive with LOT tax description

The city of Sandpoint is misleading the public with their description of the proposed LOT (1% tax). The LOT is a tax that everyone who shops in Sandpoint will pay, not just the tourists.

Andy Groat’s comment about welcoming tourists but they should “pay to play” is irrelevant to the LOT. And in the survey introduction, the yellow highlighted paragraph is deceptive. Sure, the LOT will tax the tourists but more importantly, it will tax all of us. Tourists did not create the parks master plan that you want to fund. Please don’t deceive us to pass your tax.
