Debra (Debbie) Lynn Howarth, 61, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

A celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021, at the North Summit Church with Pastor Kyle Bostock officiating.

Debbie was born on May 11, 1960, in Seattle, Washington, to Fred and Karla Darnell. She graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1978 and then attended the University of Idaho where she met her husband.

Debbie married Rick Howarth on June 5, 1982, in Sandpoint.

Debbie’s powerful faith shined brightly through her passion of sharing God’s love to young people across the world — from leading Bible studies in China and Vietnam to teaching and volunteering in her local community of Sandpoint. She touched countless hearts through her warm smile and tender heart. Her love for life, family and friendship was irresistible. She would never take for granted a moment spent with a friend or family member.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Rick Howarth; daughters Anna and Alyssa Howarth; parents Fred and Karla Darnell; and sister Lori Lowery, all of Sandpoint.

She was preceded in death by her brother Fred (Freddie) Darnell.
