The Sandpoint track team was slated to have its first home meet today, the Inland Empire Meet, but it was ultimately canceled.

According to head coach Matt Brass, the weather for the event presents less than favorable conditions for the athletes.

Currently, it’s supposed to be 38 degrees with 15-25 mile per hour winds.

Sandpoint, which is coming off of spring break, will have to wait a couple extra days before it competes again.

The last time the Bulldogs competed was three weeks ago on March 26, at the Bonners Ferry Invitational.

The Inland Empire Invitational would’ve served as the Bulldogs home opener and only home meet of the 2022 season.

As of press time, there has not been a rescheduled date for the meet.

Sandpoint will be able to hit the track this week, however, with its next meet scheduled to be The Pasco Invitational at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, at Edgar Brown Stadium in Pasco, Washington..

This meet will be exclusive to athletes who set a pre-qualifying time or mark.

Several athletes from Sandpoint will be competing at the event in the Tri-Cities.

Currently, there are 80 teams signed up acrossed Idaho and Washington set to compete at the Pasco Invitational.
