CLARKSTON — Clark Fork Senior Cole Rueter won the 2A golf tournament by three strokes with a score of 80 at the Red Wolf Club in Clarkston.

The Wampus Cats finished fourth as a team with a score of 410.

“I thought it went really well,” Clark Fork golf coach Brian Arthun said. “Seven of the kids on the team haven’t really played in a tournament before. We came out and did really well.”

One of those seven was Hudson McDaniel.

McDaniel finished his first ever tournament with a score of 109.

Carter Sanroman rounded out the boys, shooting a 98, which was good enough for him to place in the top 10.

Sophomores Lilly Reuter and Eloise Shelton represented the girls.

Reuter finished with a 111, and Shelton finished with a 115.

“(Lilly) Reuter was four or five strokes away from placing third,” Arthun said. “She’ll be in the mix if she keeps working hard.”

The Wampus Cats will be back in action on Wednesday at the Links.
