The Sandpoint tennis team tied with Lake City 6-6 in its match at Travers and Lakeview park.

Sandpoint’s girls doubles continued to roll, with both teams earning a victory.

Oliva Petruso and Denali Terry went back to the number one doubles slot and defeated Lake City’s Holly Burt and Adeline Smith 6-0, 6-3.

Patch Howard and Maile Evans won their match with relative ease as well, winning 6-2, 6-3.

“It was an easy win for them,” Sandpoint tennis coach Kent Anderson said. “They were both very consistent and played smart on a day where it was really tough to play.”

Tyler Korn and Cayden Kindred lost in another extra set tiebreaker 6-3,6-3, 10-8.

“They’ve had a few of those this year,” Anderson said. “They have a style of play where they can just out power anyone and the wind makes it extremely hard for them.”

The mixed doubles teams for Sandpoint also continued its success with a sweep.

Jacob Dawson and Sydney Webb defeated Lake City’s Lucy Mendez and Lincoln Stowell 6-3, 6-1.

Anthony Ramires and Aubrey Knowles dominated in the number two slot with a 6-1, 6-1 victory.

“Our mixed doubles were really strong today,” Anderson said. “Both of them are playing extremely well together.”

The girls singles players were 1-3, with the lone victory coming from Maise Brazill.

Brazill defeated Lake City’s Christina Glass 6-4, 6-4.

“She just doesn’t like to lose,” Anderson said. “ (Christina) Glass is a good player, too, who plays year-round. (Maise) is just incredibly consistent and a hard worker. It’s hard to beat that combo.”

The Bulldogs will be in action again on Wednesday at 3 p.m. against Post Falls at home and again at 11 a.m. on Saturday at home against Lewiston.
