Freda Louise McConnaughey

| April 20, 2022 1:00 AM

Freda Louise McConnaughey passed away peacefully in her home with her husband, Terry, by her side, on Monday April 11, 2022.

Freda was born August 24, 1937, in Sandpoint, Idaho, to William and Billie Raynor. They resided in Ponderay, Idaho, until Freda met and married Terry McConnaughey in 1958. They had two children Daniel and Traci. In 1963 the family headed North to Alaska so Terry could pursue a career with the Alaska State Troopers.

Freda and Terry lived in Sitka, Ketchikan, Wrangle, Palmer and Anchorage two different times. While in Alaska Freda completed her degree in accounting at the University of Alaska, Anchorage. She worked for Price Waterhouse Cooper before becoming Grandma to Jesse Miles and Anthony Miles, when she decided to retire and become a full time Grandma. She always said, “Grandma’s my name … spoiling is my game.”

When Terry retired in 1990 the McConnaugheys headed back to Sandpoint, where they built a home in Sagle, Idaho, and where Terry still resides.

Freda is preceded in death by her mother Billie Harper and father Bill Raynor along with her brothers Phillip and Patrick Raynor.

She leaves behind her husband Terry, her son Daniel of Anchorage; her daughter, Traci Miles (Harlon) of Anacortes, Washington; and her grandchildren, Jesse Miles (Gena) of Edmonds, Washington; Anthony Miles of Bellingham, Washington; and Nicholas Ketterer of Fairbanks, Alaska; and her great-grandchildren, Henry and Norah Miles, along with many nieces and nephews.

Freda enjoyed her grandkids the most, along with quilting, knitting, reading and spending winters in Hawaii with her husband Terry.

Freda lived a good life, is loved, and will be missed by all. Memorial services will be announced at a later time.

Family and friends are invited to sign the online guest book at coffeltfuneral.com.
