The last time the Sandpoint tennis team faced off against Post Falls was on Thursday, March 24.

The Bulldogs came away with a 7-5 victory that day, and on Wednesday Sandpoint handled the Trojans 10-2 on their home court.

“I kind of thought if we’d get a day that’s not windy or freezing cold, we’d shine,” Sandpoint tennis coach Kent Anderson said. “That definitely happened today.”

The girls swept again, with both doubles teams winning by a combined score of 24-6.

“I’m really proud of the way that they come in and take care of business,” Anderson said. “They are so tough. It’s almost a guaranteed two points for us every match.”

Anderson also made some adjustments to the lineup for this match. He noted that today’s lineup against the Trojans is getting closer to what their district's lineup will look like.

“This could be our districts lineup,” Anderson said. “We’re going up against Lewiston on Saturday and they have the best team in the panhandle and we’ll put this group against them and see how it looks.”

One of the new combinations to come out of today’s lineup was Owen Larson and Sydney Webb.

The mixed duo won in three sets against Post Falls’ Claire Holding and Isaac Holding.

“They had a great match,” Anderson said. “They played well together, it was a great indicator for when we get to districts.”

The other new pairing was the boys number two doubles team of Jacob Dawson and Anthony Ramires.

The duo made quick work of Post Falls’ Tyler Jacobson and Isaac Glenn, 6-1, 6-4.

“This was their first time playing together and they crushed it,” Anderson said. “They played together in a challenge match and won it and cruised to a victory today.”

Sandpoint next plays Lewiston at 11 a.m. at home on Saturday.
