SHS girls win Liberty Lake Scramble

LIBERTY LAKE — The Sandpoint High School golf team traveled to the Liberty Lake scramble tournament on Wednesday.

The boys finished tied for third place with a score of 219.

Coeur d’Alene High School won the event with a team-score of 201.

Jacob Gove was the lone individual on the Sandpoint golf team who didn’t play with a partner. He finished the round with a score of 82.

The duo of Jake Samuels and Austin Dillon finished with a total of 68, which was the best score of the day.

Joey Aexel and Rusty Lee finished one stroke behind with a score of 69.

The girls won the event with a team score of 244.

Taylor Mire and Reagan Samuels led the team with a final score of 78.

The duo of Audrey Scheffler and Demi Driggs finished one stroke behind with a score of 79.

"The girls are gaining confidence," Sandpoint girls golf coach Erin Roos said. "They started to trust their swing and were all smiles after the win."

The Sandpoint golf team will be back in action on Monday at the Lewiston Invitational.
