Despite injury Wampus Cats come out on top

POST FALLS - Despite losing Ethan Howard during pregame due to an apparent knee injury, Clark Fork was still able to defeat nonleague opponent Immaculate Conception 55-43.

“We had a game plan coming in and we had to switch it right away when we lost (Ethan) Howard,” Clark Fork boys basketball coach Heath Beason said. “But the guys stepped up and filled the void.”

Cole San Roman stepped in during Howard’s absence and although he didn’t score any points Beason praised his defensive effort along with his rebounding ability.

Carter San Roman pitched in a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. He also added three steals.

Beason also praised Antonio Mayorga’s defensive performance saying “He tore it up.”

Sam Barnett paced the Wampus Cats with 20 points. Nathan Shelton also added double-digit points with 12.
