Priest River Library hosting classes, events

| February 2, 2022 1:00 AM

It's time to get chopped at the Priest River Library.

At noon Saturday, Feb. 5, the Priest River Library will launch its Chopped Challenge series, based on the popular Food Network show. Participants will come to the library and pick up their list of “secret” ingredients, and return on March 5 at noon with their prepared recipe that includes those ingredients.

There will be two age divisions. Each entry will be judged on presentation, creativity and taste. The next Chopped Challenge judging takes place on April 2. If participants are unable to pick up their list of secret ingredients in person on Saturday, they can do so at either the Priest River Library or Blanchard Library after Feb. 5.

For questions and information, please contact the library at 208-448-2207 or library@westbonnerlibrary.org. The challenge is sponsored by the Friends of the West Bonner Libraries.

In other library news, Twisted Stitchers meets the first Saturday of the month from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Priest River Library. This is a drop-in group for anyone interested in fiber arts and crafts. Participants are invited to bring whatever project they are working on and meet some fun people.

A beginning weaving class is set to start in March with a limited number of participants to allow for adequate instruction. Contact the library to sign up.

It's going to be a full STEAM Saturday on Feb. 5 will be a special family open STEAM. This session is open to all ages and will feature STEAM materials including Ozo Bots, Snap Circuits and Legos. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

Full STEAM Saturday is held the first Saturday of each month from 2-3 p.m. after the library closes. The fun is for ages 8 and up.
