Clark Fork honored its seniors, Katelyn Matteson, Grace Yancy, and Kellie Mace as a part of its senior night before its nonleague game against Wallace.

The Miners did everything they could to spoil the Wampus Cats night which including a 19-0 first quarter shut out.

Wallace finished the routing by a final score of 61-26.

“We’ve been in constant situations where we either win by 20 or lose by 20,” Clark Fork girls basketball coach Jordan Adams said. “But at the end of the day, we find things that we need to work on and get better.”

In the second quarter, the Wampus Cats started to show some life. Lilly Reuter put up a corner 3 with 6:58 left in the quarter to end the 21-0 run.

Wallace slightly etched out Clark Fork 13-11 in the second.

“I think our girls like to assess the team before they start playing,” Adams said. “We really started to move the ball well in the second quarter and our man defense had some life to it.”

By the time the second came to an end, the first quarter was too much to come back from. Wallace had a 32-1 lead heading into the locker room.

Mattson paced the Wampus Cats with six points. Adams had some strong words for her senior leader.

“She’s been playing basketball longer than anyone else,” Adams said. “She’s a natural leader, she’s a do as I do not as I say. She’s quiet, but always leads by example.”

Fellow senior Yancy also had nine points.

Jaden House paced Wallace with 18 points. Grace Hunter notched 13 and Bethany Phillips had 12..
