NOXON, Mont. - The Clark Fork boys’ basketball team nearly doubled Noxon in its 65-33 nonleague victory.

The Wampus cats got off to a slow start in the first quarter only leading the Red Devils 9-4.

“We wanted to make sure we stayed aggressive,” Clark Fork boys basketball coach Heath Beason said. “We wanted to stay at a high tempo.”

Noxon made some changes from the first time the two teams played on Jan. 11 so Clark Fork had to make some adjustments in the second quarter.

“All the starters really stepped up in the third quarter,” Beason said. “They played a phenomenal game and we were able to put in our bench guys because of their effort.”

Nathan Shelton paced the Wampus cats with 16 points, Sam Barnett had 13 and Carter San Roman added 10.

The Wampus Cats ended their season 14-6 and undefeated in league play.

Next up for Clark Fork is the district tournament with a time, date and place to be determined.
