Priest River’s boys’ basketball team fell to Intermountain league foe Timberlake (6-8, 1-3) 54-43 on Friday Feb. 4.

The Spartans (8-9, 1-3) couldn’t find a rhythm offensively, they finished the night 35 percent from the field.

“I have to tip my hat to Timberlake, they outplayed us tonight,” Priest River boys basketball coach Jaden Barrett said. “We did some good things, we just couldn’t score.”

The first quarter had some signs of foreshadowing as the Tigers doubled the Spartans’ 14-7.

By halftime, Timberlake had a 29-19 lead.

Priest River’s leading scorer for the season, Trentyn Kreager paced the Spartans with 17 points. It was learned on Monday that he had a case of appendicitis and is recovering.

Blake Barrett and Jace Yount both notched 10 points.

Zack Yetter paced Timberlake with a game-high 18 points. Taylor Menti added 10.

Priest River next plays at Bonners Ferry on Friday.
