'Walk this Way' to 'Young Frankenstein'

The Lake Pend Oreille Repertory Theater is performing Mel Brooks’ madcap comedy "Young Frankenstein."

Victor Frankenstein, the mad scientist of legend, has died and left everything to his grandson, Frederick, who wants nothing to do with the family’s notorious legacy.

Opening night is Saturday, Feb. 19, at the Panida. Curtain opens at 7 p.m. A second performance will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20.

Guests are required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination, or recent (within 72 hours) negative COVID test. (At home self-test results will not be accepted.)

Full capacity auditorium, hosting a maximum of 450 guests. Advance tickets are recommended, but not required.

Additional performances will be held Feb. 26 and 27, but will not require a negative COVID-19 test, COVID-19 vaccination or social distancing requirements.

Panida Theater officials strongly encourages all guests to wear a mask, regardless of vaccine status, while enjoying performances.

In the musical comedy, Dr. Frederick Frankenstein is a lecturing physician at an American medical school. He works to separate himself from the subject of his grandfather, Victor Frankenstein, an infamous mad scientist. When he learns he has inherited his family's estate in Transylvania after the death of his great-grandfather, the Baron Beaufort von Frankenstein, he travels to Europe to inspect the property.
