Couple celebrating golden anniversary

Steve and Jacque Johnson of Sagle will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a dessert and toast given by their children on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 6-9 p.m. at 246 Timberbasin Road). Friends and relatives are invited. They were married on Aug. 12, 1972.

The couple have four children, Jason Johnson of Sandpoint, Aaron (Sarah) Johnson of Umatilla, Ore., Kasey (Jessica) Johnson of Walla Walla, Washington, and Lisa (JD) McElroy of Sandpoint. They also have 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Steve has retired from teaching and plant management into full-time garden and wildlife oversight. Jacque is a newly retired school principal and has quickly slipped into expert quilting and sour dough bread baking. Together, they enjoy exploring Lake Pend Oreille and traveling around the Pacific Northwest to champion their grandkids.
