P.E.O. chapter awards scholarships

Chapter V, P.E.O. awarded two outstanding SHS senior girls the Alma Martin Award Girl Scholarships at the Senior Class Night on May 24. Each girl received a $1,000 scholarship and was presented with a bouquet of white daisies, the flower of P.E.O.
Receiving the scholarships are Sophie Dignan and Jessica Lotze.
Dignan plans on attending Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake, Washington. She has already received her private pilot's license through a program at Sandpoint High School and plans to further her aviation studies to complete more certifications.
Lotze plans to attend Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida. She wants to pursue a degree in marine science or animal studies.
P.E.O. is a philanthropic educational organization. It helps women of all ages with scholarships, loans and grants who are furthering their higher education.
