Kleinkauf wins fourth league event in a row

Karl Kleinkauf claimed his fourth Sandpoint Disc Golf League victory in a row on Tuesday at the Baldfoot Disc Golf Course.

Klienkauf finished Tuesday with a score of 50, five under par. He hit three birdies on the first five holes before hitting back-to-back birds on holes seven and eight.

Klienkauf’s final two birdies came on holes 10 and 14.

Another familiar face finished in second place. Michael Givens; however, on Tuesday, he finished tied with Riley Emmer.

They both finished the round with a score of 52, three under par.

Emmer took the early advantage after converting for a birdie on the opening hole.

He’d go on to bogey hole number two to put him back at par, tied with Givens.

On hole four, Givens separated from Emmer by converting in two, while Emmer converted the par-3 in four throws.

Givens had the advantage over Emmer following hole number seven. Emmer would go on to hit three straight birdies to take a one-stroke lead.

Hole 10 became the turning point with Givens converting in two throws while it took Emmer four strokes.

The opportunity to take the lead presented itself to Emmer during hole number 12 after Givens’ bogey.

Emmer managed a par to tie the score once again.

He hit two birdies back-to-back on holes 14 and 15 to retake the lead.

However, on 16 and 17, Emmer would hit back-to-back bogeys as Givens pared for the final margin.
