CAL invites nonprofits to apply for grants

| March 8, 2022 1:00 AM

Non-profits with projects that benefit Bonner County should mark their calendars — March 31. The date is the deadline to submit applications for Community Assistance League’s 2022 cycle of giving.

Last year, CAL gave away more than $100,000 to worthy projects, monies raised through sales at its upscale retail shop, Bizarre Bazaar. Volunteers run the shop, sorting donations from local residents, pricing, displaying, and helping the many customers who enjoy shopping for a cause. Every item purchased means more money for grants and scholarships.

If yours is a non-profit organization that has an important project which will serve Bonner County exclusively, in a significant way, you may pick up an application at one of the locations listed below. Criteria for award evaluation include projects which will have a significant and positive impact on the community, projects which are innovative, and projects which involve important issues. (Political, sectarian, or religious programs that are not open to the entire community are not eligible.)

Applications are available at the following locations:

_ The libraries of Sandpoint, Priest River, Oldtown, and Clark Fork

_ Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce

_ Bizarre Bazaar, 502 Church Street, Sandpoint

You may also download the application on the CAL website: www.CALSandpoint.org

Grant applications must be returned or postmarked no later than Thursday, March 31. For additional information, please email CALSandpointGrants@gmail.com.
