Claudia Jeanne (Howe) Sommers, 76

| March 17, 2022 1:00 AM

Claudia Jeanne (Howe) Sommers, 76, went home to be with Jesus on March 9, 2022. Claudia was born Feb. 9, 1946, to Clyde and Helen Howe in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

She valued her family time and loved planning, (starting in January) our annual Christmas party which she and Wayne started about 30 years ago.

She had many life highlights, including being a cheerleader at Valley View and being chosen queen of the senior ball at Bonners Ferry High School in 1964. She frequently talked about her classmates and the reunions they have had.

Some of her favorite hobbies were quilting and watching every Seattle Seahawks game. She loved cooking, especially ham.

Claudia loved being involved in music whether at church or at home. She was a talented piano player, singer and even played in the church bell choir.

Claudia wanted everyone she met to know her reason for the hope she had and would tell them about Jesus.

Claudia and her desire to always make sure we were all taken care of will be missed by her loving caring husband Wayne. Her children, Darron, Alan, Bob Branson, Dan (Connie) Sommers, Tammy (Mike) Klaus, Saundra (Kalen) Scarlett, Amy Sommers, deceased. Her sisters, Cathy (John) Sage, Chris (Rod) Puckett, and numerous cousins, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.

A Celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Bonners Ferry. Graveside service will be held immediately following at Grandview Cemetery. For family and friends wishing to continue the celebration there will be a potluck back at First Baptist Church after the graveside service.
