March 20, 1922 – HIMES FROG CROAKS

Dick Himes is willing to bank his money that spring is really here. A frog which for years has occupied a place in the joist above the front door of the Himes gallery hails the approach of spring with a croak. He croaked Tuesday. The frog hibernates winters not exactly “on the pallid bust of Pallas just above me chamber door” like Poe’s raven, but in a warm spot over the front door. He chirps forth with the first advent of the new season. He has been doing it for years, Mr. Himes avers.
