March 31, 1972 – EASTER EGG HUNT

The annual Sandpoint Lions Club Easter egg hunt will be at War Memorial Field at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 1 (no foolin’). Chairman James Doak said over 1000 eggs will be on the field for children to find. There will also be many golden eggs that may be turned in for money. Areas will be marked off for the age groups.

PROUDLY WE SALUTE…

SP4 Douglas C. Darling has been assigned to the 66th Heavy Equipment Maintenance Co. at Kitzingen, Germany. He graduated with honors from the U.S. Army Engineers’ School at Ft. Belvoir, Va. Darling is the son of Mrs. Charlotte Darling of Sandpoint and the grandson of Mrs. L.G. Moon, Sr., Bottle Bay.

Army Pvt. David M. Kellogg, 25, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert M. Kellogg, Sandpoint, recently was assigned for duty with Tripler Army Medical, Honolulu. Kellogg is a pharmacist with the center.

MULTI-UNIT APARTMENT BUILDINGS

Three multi-unit apartment buildings are being brought to completion on Division Ave. east of the New Farmin school. The development takes up the frontage from Spruce to Hickory. The apartments will take up some of the demand for rental housing.

CLARK FORK NEWS by Mrs. Anna M. White

Easter Sunday sunrise services will be held at 5:30 a.m. at Cabinet Gorge with the youth of Clark Fork in charge of special music. Everyone is welcome.

March 31, 1922 – PARTY AT LEGION H.Q.

The Ladies of the Women’s auxiliary and the vets of the local legion post united in a “penny” social at legion headquarters Monday, the second event of its nature this winter. It was most successful, the penny sales and dances netting $30 above expenses. There was a postoffice, express office, fishpond, lottery, auction and dancing pavilion, with a cafeteria selling sandwiches, doughnuts and coffee. The event was well attended and the legion hall comfortably crowded.

CITY BREVITIES

P.M. Mitchell recently purchased the Sam Nelson blacksmith shop on Pine street, near Second avenue, and moved from his former shop on Oak street, which was dismantled and razed last week.
