Glenn Ray Bailey (G. Ray), 72, passed away peacefully in his sleep early Sunday morning, April 3, 2022. Ray was born August 31, 1949, to Betty and Vernon Bailey Jr. in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Ray attended schools in Sandpoint and had a brief stint in the Marines before attending North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, where he received a degree in forestry. While working for the Forest Service he was able to travel to several locations in the Northwest. One of his favorite places was Alaska but he also enjoyed his time in Washington and Idaho. While still connected with the Forest Service he was a member of the Columbia shuttle recovery team.

In 2004, G. Ray retired from the Forest Service to “snowbird” in Wickenburg, Arizona. After his first season there, he liked it so much he decided to stay and take up residency. While in Wickenburg he took up some part-time jobs to fill his time. Ray worked construction in Utah, managed a trailer park in Wickenburg, and worked a few days a month for the Aguila Water System. He was a caretaker, handyman and hauled sugar beets in North Dakota.

G. Ray had several fun hobbies, not to mention the pranks he liked to play, he loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor. He loved riding his Harley and enjoyed time riding with his brother, Gary, and nephew, Duffy. Ray also did a lot of 4-wheel riding with family and friends. He collected rocks to cut and polish, and enjoyed cooking and barbecuing. Ray was a member of the Elks Lodge and went often to visit with friends and tip a few drinks.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wes Stradley and Terry Bailey; and a brother-in-law, Duffy Walker. He is survived by a child; siblings, Kent Stradley, Curt (Bonnie) Stradley, Vernon (Christine) Bailey III, Karen Walker and Gary (Vicki Fletcher) Bailey.

G. Ray Bailey was loved and will be greatly missed by those who knew him. He was truly a blessing to know.
