The Sandpoint tennis team capped off its regular season with an 8-4 victory over Coeur d'Alene on Tuesday.

The girls on the Bulldogs' tennis team finished their undefeated season with a 4-1 victory over the Vikings.

The lone win for the Coeur d'Alene girls came from its number one doubles team.

Kalli DeLeonard and Shelby Gray defeated Oliva Petruso and Denali Terry in three sets.

The set scores were 6-0, 6-4, 12-10.

At number two doubles, Maile Evans and Patch Howard finished out their dominant regular season with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over the Vikings.

At number one singles, Neva Reseska ended her regular season with a three-set victory over Coeur d'Alene's Aubrey Jordan.

The set scores were 6-3, 6-3, 10-8.

“These two are evenly matched stars,” Sandpoint tennis coach Kent Anderson said. “They’ve battled in gut-wrenching matches for years and finally (Neva) came out on top. I’m so proud of her.”

Maise Brazill refused to give an inch in her number two girls singles match.

She nearly notched a clean sweep victory over Coeur d'Alene's Sarah Goode. She won 6-0, 6-1.

The boys also notched a victory as a team by defeating the Vikings 3-2.

Jacob Dawson, who has been on a hot streak as of late, was the lone winner at boys' singles.

He defeated CJ Giao 6-2, 6-4.

The other two victories came from Sandpoint's doubles pairings.

Tyler Korn and Cayden Kindred ended their regular season on a high note with a three-set victory over Alexander Nipp and Jake Whitling.

The set scores were 6-1, 7-5, 10-7.

“Both teams played with a lot of athleticism,” Anderson said. “They’re both poised to make a big run at the district tournament.”

Owen Larson and Aden Heitz completed the sweep at the doubles with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Gabe Damser and Charlie Pinto.

Anthony Ramires and Aubrey Knowles were the final winners of the match.

The number two mixed duo pair defeated Luke May and Taylor Torgenson 6-1, 6-4.
