PR track competes in day one of district meet

SPIRIT LAKE — The Priest River track team participated in day one of the Class 3A District 1 track meet on Thursday at Timberlake High School.

Some events weren’t finished by press time.

At press time, the team standings are as follows, for the boys. Timberlake is on top with a score of 45. Bonners Ferry is in second with a score of 20. Priest River is in third place with a score of 14, and Coeur d’Alene Charter is in fourth with six team points.

For the girls, Bonner Ferry is in first place with a score of 50. Timberlake is in second with a score of 22. Kellogg is in third with a score of 12 and Priest River and Coeur d’Alene Charter are tied for fourth place with a score of 10.

Matyus McLain set a personal best time in the 100 meter sprint event with a time of 11.64. He also notched a first place finish in shot put.

For the girls, Freshman Hadassah Davis finished third in the 100 meter sprint with a personal best time of 13.77.

Sophomore Allyson Barton set a personal best mark during her third place finish in the discus event with a throw of 101 feet.

The Spartans will be back at Timberlake High School today for day two of the Class 3A district 1 track meet.
