Great Northern Disc Golf Inc. along with tournament director Jeff Cowley held its second annual Lost in the Fir Trees disc golf tournament on Saturday, May 21, at the Baldfoot disc golf course.

The tournament managed to attract a full field of participants. 72 athletes from Spokane, Coeur d’Alene, and surrounding areas packed the course for a day of disc golf.

The group raised over $1,700, all of which will go towards improving the Baldfoot course.

The course is currently being maintained by a dedicated group of locals and the nonprofit group, Great Northern Disc Golf.

Jared Person notched a first place finish in the pro men’s open class.

He finished the opening round with a score of 49 but managed to take two strokes off his score in round two to finish with a score of 96.

Mike Givens finished in second place by just one stroke. He led the pack after round one finishing with a score of 47. He slowed down a bit in the second round, however, and finished with a score of 50.

Johnny Eastaugh finished in first place in the pro 40-plus age division.

He finished round one with a score of 54 and managed to do even better in the second round, scoring a 52.

He won the tournament by a score of 106, which was four strokes ahead of second place finisher Rhoads.

Rhoads finished the tournament with a score of 110, five strokes ahead of third place finisher Stevenson.
