Jason Wayne Barber

| October 5, 2022 1:00 AM

Jason Wayne Barber was born on Dec. 23, 1974, to Linda Bock and Jack Barber.

Jason spent his younger years growing up in Iowa with his mom and stepdad, Dennis Shupe. That is when his younger brother, Darren Shupe, came into Jason's world.

Jason met Christina Balch and on Dec. 17, 1997; and he and Christina moved to Idaho. In the year of 2001, Jason met Suzi Grotjohn, becoming part of her family. Helping to raise her three kids, Merissa, Anthony and Brianna, as their stepdad. Jason loved going fishing, camping, hunting, hiking, kayaking and looking for rocks — anything that he could do outdoors. When Jason wasn't doing outdoor things, he was spending time with his family.

Jason was part of a pretty big family and was always sharing stories and laughing about his brothers, Chad Davis, Josh Parker, Shay Barber, Nathan Barber, Chad Barber, Richard Shults and Darren Shupe. He was also blessed with nieces and nephews, Kaylee Davis, Rylen and Skye Parker, Waylan Shupe and many more. In 2007, Jason became a grandpa (Hampa) for the first time, giving him four amazing grandchildren, Maliaki, Izzibrayah, Bryaleih and Paislie.

On Sept. 26, 2022, Jason went home to be with his mom and stepdad.

Jason is survived by Jack Barber, Suzi, Merissa (Scott), Anthony, Brianna (Joe), Darren Shupe, (Sierra) Chad Davis, Chad Barber, Josh (Autumn), Shay, Nathan, Rich, Kaylee, Aunt Melody, Pam Jones, Carol Ford, Bill Cushman, Chuck Shelton and Lendall Shelton; and also many more family members. Jason would say, “This isn't goodbye, this is I will see you soon.”

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
