Oct. 30, 1972 – BROWNIE INVESTITURE
Sagle Brownie Girl Scout Troop 506 welcomed several new Brownies on Monday: Heidi Ownby, Marceline Toten, Debbie Good, Eve Marie Gordon, Joyce Fitzpatrick, Jackie Pucci, Jeannette Ball, LeAnna Porath, Heidi Carson and Laurie Bristow. Second year Brownies are Ivy Metz, Kristi Merwin, Virginia Sigmund, Jeralyn Lewis and Heidi Overholser. Katie Overholser is a Brownie helper.

SHORT, BUSY AND PRODUCTIVE
Cedar Street’s downtown business area is only five blocks long but in that short distance can be found a remarkable number and variety of products and services. On Cedar between First and Sixth avenues it is possible to purchase shoes, furniture and other home furnishings, cars and trucks, real estate, clothing, variety store items, cosmetics, sporting goods, records, stereo tapes, flowers, radios and TV sets. If you’re a man, you can get a haircut and if you’re a woman you can get a wave, set, or facial. You may have your car serviced at any of several locations, obtain full banking service or order a phone installed in your home. You can buy processed wood products, a glass of beer, a drink or a meal. And if you like pizza, you can order that, too. You can arrange a trip around the world or to any point you name. You can get your clothes cleaned or obtain public relations services, listen to hi-fi, or buy a tiny radio that tells you what the weather will be tomorrow. If the thought of all this within five blocks is too much, you can stop by a drug store and get something to settle your nerves.

Oct. 30, 1922 – WILL GIVE PARTY
The Women’s auxiliary of the American legion will give a Hallowe’en party, to which the public is invited. The event will take place in the legion’s new quarters in the Weil building at First and Lake, which has been remodeled to give room for dancing. A charge of 50 cents will be made for the event. The committee in charge is: Miss Helen Irvine, chairman; Miss Edith Fee, Mrs. Joseph Leising, Mrs. W.M. Malkson, Miss Jerry Reed and Miss Grace Feeder.

CITY BREVITIES
All Bonner county War Mothers are urgently requested to attend the next meeting, Nov. 1, at the American Legion hall, to plan for the annual banquet for all ex-service men on Armistice day.
The Sandpoint Drug will make extensive changes to its store. The cigar cases in the front of the store will be done away with and the space used for perfumes and toilet accessories. The changes will make a general improvement in the store’s interior and the department will be embellished with mirrors and plate glass. Doing away with the cigar trade was made necessary by the demand for floor space.

U OF I CLUB TO DANCE
The recently organized U of I club will entertain with a Hallowe’en dance at K.P. hall. All university and college alumni of the city are invited to attend.
