Climate change hearsay isn't the same as evidence

I pointed out the fact in my letter of July 26 that Jack DeBaun fails to follow the burden of proof rule, yet he continues to violate this basic rule, insisting that I look up the names of the authors of thousands of papers in order to prove him right. He commits a logical fallacy in doing so: “Burden of proof fallacy (or shifting the burden of proof) is a logical fallacy that occurs when one abuses their burden of proof by attempting to shift it to someone else. In general, the person or party making an argument has the burden of proof to justify it (whether they argue that something is true or false).” (https://fallacyinlogic.com/burden-of-proof-fallacy-definition-and-examples/)

Despite his statement to the contrary, DeBaun has yet to provide any evidence to support his 97% consensus claim. Hearsay is not the same as evidence.

In his letter of August 18, DeBaun resembles Chicken Little, running around frantically shouting that the sky is falling. He blames the world’s disasters on human-caused global warming even though he offers no proof whatsoever for the veracity of his claims. He gets his ideas from the United Nations IPCC, a socialist organization, and from Australian cartoonist John Cook. Both sources deny true empirical science and favor scientific theory instead. In his mind, DeBaun believes that theory is actually proven fact.

Jack has many times claimed that “science doesn’t prove anything,” and by making such a claim he has no solid ground to stand on.
