Rally set to show support for law enforcement

The community is invited to come “Back the Bonner Blue” at a rally today at the 
Bonner County Courthouse.

The event will be held from noon to 2 p.m on First Avenue along the sidewalks fronting the courthouse and Sandpoint Community Hall. It is the third annual event held to show support for local law enforcement.

In addition, a no-host lunch will be offered for sale by “Blue-Line Barbeque.”

Yard signs supporting local law enforcement will be available or those planning to participate can bring their own.

Organizers said the event is to show community support for Bonner County law enforcement, corrections officers and dispatchers.

“It is not a protest, demonstration, or any planned event other than showing our thanks and support,” Jim Kelly said.

Kelly said they respectfully ask that attendees refrain from blocking sidewalks or streets in a manner that impedes pedestrian or vehicular traffic.

“We look forward to seeing the citizens of Bonner County come out to support the men and women who protect our lives,” he added.
