HADLEY TO JOIN LUNDBLAD ON MOOSE TRIP
The sportsman who has for many months devoted his time to preparing the moose salami lunches at the Bonner County Sportsmen’s Association meetings will go moose hunting himself this year. Leo Hadley, 303 South Boyer, has been picked as sidekick and hunting partner of Roland Lundblad, Dover. Lundblad won the club nod as official moose hunter this year. The men will take part in a 10-day British Columbia moose hunt starting Sept. 27. If they get a moose, the association receives half of it for financing the trip. The hunts have been successful over the past few years and this has maintained the supply of moose meat used at monthly meeting lunches and the annual moose dinner.

Sept. 20, 1922 – BUT LITTLE BLISTER RUST
“The timber east of the Cascades appears to be almost entirely free from the white pine blister rust,” said W.A. Rockie, with the U.S. agriculture department engaged in exploration for the rust disease which is so destructive of white pine. “So far, we have found the pest near Revelstoke, B.C., and at another place about 25 miles from there. It is pretty bad west of the Cascades, but it is hoped that by locating all the sources of it, the disease can be kept under control.”

MEMORIAL BUILDING PLANS UP TO STATE
Since the burning of the Liberty theater, the only public hall of capacity to meet Sandpoint’s needs, interest centers around the memorial building which the American Legion proposes to build. There is a movement to aid the project and thereby hasten the erection of a building to take the place of the one destroyed. Architect plans for the building have been approved by the county memorial commission, and forwarded to the state auditor for the state’s approval.

WANT RURAL ROUTE FOR WRENCOE AREA
Positions are in preparation for the establishment of a rural route running out of Sandpoint and down the river past Dover to the Manning place on the river and then loop the Wrencoe school house and the Orson Warner ranch, returning to the Sandpoint-Laclede road at the Ames ranch. This road is to be followed back to the Chichester corner from where it will go north to the Hurm ranch and thence over the hill to Pine street extended, by which it will return to Sandpoint.
