Wampus Cats defeat Genesis Prep

| September 24, 2022 1:00 AM

The Wampus Cats had a strong night on the court Thursday, claiming a three-set win over Genesis Prep, 25-19, 25-22, 25-19.

The last set was "a little rough" for the Wampus Cats, Clark Fork head coach Michelle Valliere said. Clark Fork was leading by 10-plus points but let the Jaguars into the set with a run at the end to make it close.

"We finished it so that was good," Valliere said. "Our serving was good. Our hitting was good. Our service set was very good."

Overall, Valliere said the Wampus Cats played "pretty well."

Paige Valliere did a great job running around the court, setting balls for Frederica Pacifico, who ended the night with six kills.

"Frederica and Paige are starting to connect and so Frederica had high kills tonight, which was cool.

Valliere said the young team is starting to gel and figure out how to connect and play off of each other.

Leading the Wampus Cats were Paige Valliere with 14 assists and five aces, Frederica Pacifico with six kills, Lilly Reuter with 11 digs and Sarah Bopp with 2 blocks.
