SANDPOINT – It’s time for high school seniors to start thinking about their futures and Sandpoint High School is ready to help.

“All Things Senior” — a one-night-only event will be held Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at Sandpoint High School.

SHS officials are inviting all seniors in Bonner and Boundary counties to the event, which aims to help the students explore further education or other career paths.

“ATS brings all the information seniors and their parents will need to help make choices for life after high school. We work really hard to have a representation of options for the students from DOL, military, colleges, and technical programs,” Jeralyn Mire, SHS post-secondary transition counselor, said.

Students will have the opportunity to learn about colleges, universities, and the military with over 20 representatives from area colleges/universities. The event will also allow students to connect with the Idaho Department of Labor and the yearbook company, Jostens.

In addition to speaking with different colleges and programs, students will also get hands-on training through various workshops. Ranging from financial aid education to “how to get started in the workforce,” students will have a wide scope of tools and resources to help them plan for the future. More hands-on training will include three “break-out sessions,” SHS college and career advisor Angela Dail, said.

“This is the night to get all the questions answered. Plus we have fantastic quick break-out sessions to help with many of the challenges such as FAFSA and scholarships,” Mire said.
