NIC to celebrate 90 years with community

| August 9, 2023 1:00 AM

North Idaho College is hosting its 90th anniversary Community Celebration from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at NIC’s Coeur d’Alene campus.

The event is free and open to the public.

The community celebration will feature free food, games, giveaways, free beach equipment rentals from the NIC Sunspot, a resource fair and more.

“This is a great opportunity for the community to come out and celebrate the success NIC has had through the years,” NIC President Nick Swayne said. “The shared commitment between the college and the community helps honor our past while paving the way for a promising future.”

The resource fair will take place at Lee-Kildow Hall, where new and returning students can get registration help to prepare for the Fall Semester.

NIC Director of Admissions and Recruitment Minas Be-Emnet said the celebration is a great opportunity for the college to reach out and show students the services NIC provides.

“When you’re at an institution sometimes you’re so focused on your school that you might not take into account all the resources you can utilize,” Be-Emnet said. “This event will help us meet our students and community and hopefully form a bond.”
