Vote no on the recall

| August 24, 2023 1:00 AM

The folks supporting Keith Rutledge’s and Susan Brown’s recall believe that replacing Mr. Rutledge and Ms. Brown will enhance the performance of an institution that has consistently delivered mediocre results. Their argument is that the Christian worldview of these individuals is no longer valid and that it is inevitable to introduce LGBTQ-plus, transgender, and queer ideology in schools.

Our nation's Christian worldview has served us well for the better part of almost half a millennium, and now we have these individuals suggesting we must discard it. Our friends intend to replace it with a Marxist worldview, where their opinion is the one that counts, and that when parents disagree, they refer them to the FBI as terrorists. I refuse to sign up to reduce our school district to a California dystopia.

I love the individuals who are LGBTQ-plus, transgender, or queer as creatures of God‘s creation, as all of us, but I draw a line on their moral choices; there is nothing inevitable about the LGBTQ-plus, transgender, and queer "isms." They represent attempts to bend the perfection of God’s creation to suit a transitory and relative morality, which have no place in our schools.

Let's not embrace false idols or false promises. Let's vote against the recall, with a Christian worldview driving our decisions, and to keep the LGBTQ-plus, transgender, and queer "isms" out of our schools.
