If you’re looking for events next week, look no further!

Celebrate Shark Week by taking a swim with sharks in virtual reality. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 12 to 2 p.m., the Exploration Lab will be open for you to swim with sharks and learn about these magnificent creatures in a simulation of their natural habitat.

Stop by the Sandpoint Library on Tuesday, at 11 a.m. or the Clark Fork Library at 2 p.m. as Mobius Science Center visits for a fun and interactive experience to test chemical reactions and the difference between acids and bases. This event is geared towards families.

On Wednesday, teens are welcome to stop by the Sandpoint Library after hours for the Harry Potter Escape Room experience, running from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Geared toward teens from 7th-12th grade, work together to escape the Hogwarts classroom before time runs out! Registration is required, so sign up quickly!

On Thursday, join the library and a representative from Idaho Public Broadcasting for Tigers are Kind, with Daniel Tiger. This event explores activities, stories, crafts and movements for young children. This program will happen at Travers Park at 10:30 a.m.

I’ll be setting up a community science center at the WaterLife Discovery Center on Friday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The center has a number of small trails to explore where you can see wildlife such as osprey and river otters, as well as a pond that is stuffed with bull trout. Collect some water samples and check them out under the library microscopes- last time we held this event, there were some incredible finds in the water!

Finally, on Saturday at 6 p.m. at the University of Idaho Agricultural Center, located at 10881 N. Boyer, we’ll be partnered with Spacepoint as they present “Eclipse: Ring of Fire”. This is a program with a focus on astronomy and astrophotography, with a presentation by Dr. Matthew Bernards and hands-on demonstrations from University of Idaho personnel. There will be telescopes you will get to try out at the event, including one of the telescopes that are available for check-out from your local Library of Things!

This will be a must-visit event, and you can get free tickets by visiting the library’s event page at ebonnerlibrary.org/events.
