Property tax payments due soon

| June 1, 2023 1:00 AM

The Bonner County Treasurer’s Office is reminding taxpayers that the second half of the 2022 property taxes are due by June 20.

The office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., except for June 19. All Bonner County offices will be closed on June 19 in observance of the federal holiday Juneteenth.

The Bonner County Treasurer’s Office is located in the Bonner County Administration Building, 1500 U.S. 2, Suite 304 (third floor) in Sandpoint. A payment drop box is also available and is monitored by video surveillance 24/7. Located to the right of the admin building entrance, the drop box is for check payments only.

Bonner County Treasurer Clorrisa Koster reminded taxpayers that payment coupons must be included with payment. If taxpayers do not have the coupons, they should reference the parcel numbers on their checks.

Payments that are being mailed must be postmarked by June 20 to avoid additional fees, Koster said.

Payments can also be made online or through the Treasurer's Office using a credit or debit card or electronic check. However, processing fees will apply. Those interested in the payment method should contact the office at 208-265-1433 for additional information.

Per Idaho Code that if the second half payment is late, interest is retroactive back to Jan. 1, 2023.

Koster reminded taxpayers that if they are unable to pay the full amount, any amount that they can pay prior to June 20 will help reduce the amount of interest charges.
