Vote for Susan Shea, library trustee

We have worked with Susan Shea for six years on the East Bonner County Library Board of Trustees and strongly support her re-election on May 16.

Susan’s financial expertise – and fiscal responsibility – have helped the board make many key decisions to both ease the taxpayer burden and expand the library’s programs and services. She is often able to identify questions and initiate discussions that may otherwise have been overlooked.

Susan is not afraid to question and explore multiple options, and she has been a great collaborator, working effectively with board members and the director. She clearly puts library goals above her own beliefs, understanding the library’s role of ensuring free and open access to information without restriction.

As a steadfast supporter of First Amendment rights, Susan is committed to maintaining this open access and ensuring that parents, not other citizens, determine which materials are most suitable for their families. She believes that allowing a small (but vocal) group of citizens to make these choices for everyone violates our constitution.

If you love our library and want to see the board continue to function in a fiscally conservative way while expanding programs AND supporting patrons’ right to freedom of information, we urge you to vote for Susan – the candidate without an agenda to restrict your access to materials.
