IHE holding art contest

OLDTOWN — Idaho Hill Elementary students are invited to take part in the school library's art contest, being held in conjunction with Idaho Family Reading Week.

The contest runs Nov. 6-9 and is open to all students attending Idaho Hill Elementary. Students are asked to create their own book cover or draw their own favorite book character.

The top three entries from each division will be chosen and an overall winner selected from among those entries. Divisions are kindergarten to first grade, second to third grade, and fourth through sixth grade.

Winners will be announced Monday, Nov. 13.

Entries should be an on 8 1/2- by 11-inch paper, and use crayons, colored pencils, or markers. 

All artwork must be original and one-dimensional in nature. No additional items should be added to the artwork. Students should not trace another artist's work in creating their piece.

Entries must have the child's name and grade written on the back. They must be turned into the office by the end of the day Nov. 9.

All entries will be displayed in the hallway across from the library following the art contest.
