SANDPOINT — In the middle of the season of giving thanks, Bonner County commissioners have taken a step back from county politics and opened up about what they’ve been most thankful for over the last year.

Commissioner Steve Bradhsaw voiced his gratitude for all the citizens in Bonner County who have stood with him as he continues to serve.

“I am thankful for the strength to press on through the storms of life that my Lord provides,” he said. “I am thankful that I am blessed because of God's word; Matthew 5:11. May all of Bonner County have a safe and wonderful holiday season.”

Commissioner Asia Williams said she is blessed to have been welcomed into so many different communities throughout the county. The volunteer spirit in Bonner County, she said, warms her heart.

“Our community doesn't just look to help locals with goods and services,” she said. “Our communities are working to help people feel loved, cared for and wanted. I am thankful to live in a county where people have made it a goal to help others. This is what I am most grateful for.”

Commissioner Luke Omodt began his list of thanks with his three most popular points — God, family and country.

“I am grateful for … the educators preparing our kids for America's bright future,” he continued. “The police, EMS, firefighters, medical professionals and common men and women who are working while the rest of us celebrate Thanksgiving with our families and loved ones; the men and women in uniform who have and are prepared to sacrifice all to defend our freedoms.”
