SANDPOINT — Aubrey Knowles scored a game-high 11 points to lead Sandpoint JV past Clark Fork’s varsity at Sandpoint High Friday night.

Sandpoint led from the first three seconds on as Knowles scored her first two points off the opening tip-off. The Wampus Cats, who trailed 23-9 at halftime, equaled Sandpoint’s efforts in the second half, but could not quite close the gap.

Jetta Thaete and Taylor Mire had seven points each, Jaylah Butler five, for Sandpoint. Thaete added two blocks and Mia Driggs accumulated a team-high three steals.

For Clark Fork, Lily Reuter led the way with seven points. Eloise Shelton had five points, four rebounds, and three steals. Hannah Thompson and Priscilla Mayorga each had four; Mayorga also hauled in 11 rebounds and led the Lady Cats in assists with two.

Clark Fork outrebounded Sandpoint JV 34 to 18.

“We had some really good assists tonight and were really good on the boards,” Clark Fork head coach Jordan Adams said. “We just couldn’t quite catch them.”

Clark Fork (6-9, 2-0) will wrap up the regular season at Lakeside on Saturday.
