Jan. 11, 1974 – CALENDARS ON SALE

The Bonner County Historical Society’s 1974 Calendars are on sale at the following stores: Bi-Rite Drugs, Buck’s Boutique, Sandpoint Daily Bee, Eclipse, Pastime Sport Shop, Meeks Antiques, the Korner Store at Sagle, Price Rite Meats, Clark Fork Mercantile, Trestle Creek Inn, and Edgewater. The calendar depicts historical photos vintage 1909-1913. The price is $2 plus tax.

  YOUTH TO OCCUPY PULPIT

On Sunday, the Senior High Fellowship will lead the worship service at First Presbyterian Church. There will be some lively music with Tom Knaggs on the drums. Melody Creeger will perform an original song and will team up with Lisa Creeger and Kirsten Thompson to sing “Day by Day.” Rather than a sermon, the senior Highs decided to give several short talks. Others taking part in the service are Mike and Scott Miller, Sue and Rick Tibbets, Phil Balch, Steve Kalb, Greg McCormick, and Dave, Doug and Matt Jones. Advisors Sharon and Clyde Weller and Patty Nelson will assist.

MARK R. DEXTER COMPLETED SCHOOL

Navy Machinist’s Mate Third Class Mark Dexter, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Dexter, has completed basic Machinists Mates School at Great Lakes, Ill.

DR. MARTIN TO OPEN OFFICES IN HOME

Dr. Clarice K. Martin, who is opening a temporary office at her home at 310 Lavina, has returned from California, where she took post graduate work in obstetrics at Los Angeles Osteopathic college. She was amused to see Christmas trimmings in the large San Francisco stores, where they had tried by every artificial means to produce the lovely frosted effects this area enjoys in natural winter scenery. “I’m sure glad we are not interested in such sophisticated things as pink and blue Christmas trees,” she said.

NEU BACK IN SEATTLE FOR UNITED

Mr. and Mrs. William Neu received word that their son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Neu, have returned to Seattle to make their home after four months in Cheyenne, Wyo., where he attended a special school for United Air Lines. He is now a pilot for United on flights from Seattle.

ELONA RHOADS IS BRIDE

Miss Elona Rhoads, 18, and Jack W. Yaryan, 26, both of Hope, were married Dec. 31 by Justice of the Peace Frank Harrell of this city. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.D. Rhoads, East Hope. The young couple plan to make their home in Hope.
