Incivility won't result in decency in return

| January 23, 2024 1:00 AM

Decent people prefer respectful discourse and a polite society. But when your political opponents tear down statues, try to get you fired for making personal health decisions or even get you killed by swatting, you ought not expect decency and civility anytime soon.

Who is Dave Reilly? Did he set fire to a police station? Block a highway? Mutilate a child? Besides exposing the corruption of Idaho’s looney left, the most damning evidence is dumb tweets and accusations of “extremism and political violence.” According to President Biden, this is half the country. If Democrats were held to the same standard of speech and guilt by association, at least 40% of their candidates would be ineligible for office!

The Institute for Legislative Analysis reveals a shocking number of Democrats, disguised as Republicans, control Idaho’s Senate. A savvy new generation of young conservative activists are now delivering this truth to Idahoans. But there is a difference in the way Republicans and Democrats treat their activists.

Democrats openly embrace racists, arsonists, Antifa and other violent criminals. They call these felons “activists.” During the mostly peaceful riots of 2020, Democrat Kamala Harris tweeted to donate and bail these activists out of jail. The openly marxist National Lawyers Guild, a major Democrat Party donor, represented many of these seditionists in court free of charge. Such organizations believe violent criminals (activists) are victims of the capitalist system and therefore their sins should be forgiven. Disgraced progressive lawyer Urooj Rahman, who Molotov Cocktail'd a NYPD patrol car, summed up her political advocacy: “the only way they hear us is through violence.”

Conservatives, meanwhile, denounce their activists the second they say something objectionable. This explains why Democrats now run our country and all major institutions. When guilt by association becomes guilt itself, when decency denotes weakness, when apologies are ammunition for political revenge— civility becomes impossible. “Hate” is the Left’s new word for dissent and violence is now their exclusive right. If Republicans think they can counter actual political violence with nursery rhymes like “turn the other cheek!” or “we’re better than that!”, expect asymmetric political victory for those fighting hardest — Democrats.

Comfortable conservatives had better show some guts in defending their front-line activists who, like them or not, expose the progressive agenda and take all the enemy fire … for them. Generals don’t fight wars, grunts do.
