PONDERAY — Adoptions, food trucks and raffles are just a few of the features of Better Together Animal Alliance’s upcoming summer celebration, Whiskers and Wags.

To present the event, BTAA is partnering with C6-Zero, a company that produces reduced carbon intensity products from reclaimed asphalt shingles with an administrative office in Sandpoint. All of the company’s team members enjoy pets and local adopters, Karley Hubbard, C6-Zero public relations manager, said.

“As we have been volunteering in the community, we found that sponsoring BTAA for this adoption event aligned perfectly with our personal employee values,” she said.

This adoption celebration will be Saturday, June 22 at the alliance, 870 Kootenai Cutoff Road, Ponderay, from noon to 4 p.m. All proceeds will go to BTAA's operations. This event is centered toward pet adoption, but it will also be presented as a family-friendly day to celebrate all of BTAA's hard work in the community, Hubbard said.

Currently organizers are reaching out with local businesses for raffle donations. At this time, they have obtained over 15 donations for the raffle, and are continuing to add more with each week leading up to the event.
