Lake City's Krier no-hits Sandpoint

| April 13, 2005 9:00 PM

COEUR d'ALENE — Lake City freshman Amanda Krier went the distance in her first varsity start. Senior Dani Ghramm hadn't caught since she was a freshman.

Together, they were one walk from a perfect game in the Timberwolves' 10-0 victory over Sandpoint in an Inland Empire League makeup game Wednesday.

Krier struck six, walked just one and the Timberwolves played error-free ball.

"She's been pitching in JV games and this is her first full game, but she was relaxed and throwing well," first-year Lake City coach Laura Tolzmann said. "I thought we played pretty good defense and Ghramm hit the ball well."

Ghramm drove in two runs, as did Kelli Bridges, who had RBI singles in the first and third innings for the Timberwolves (6-0 IEL, 10-2).

Sandpoint dropped to 0-6, 0-7.
