Time for rec district backers to finally hear the music

| March 18, 2006 8:00 PM

Wow, and I thought I was dense. Dr. Pierce. you and the rest of the BMW/Volvo crowd can't seem to take a hint. Well, that's what happens when you hit your head too many times on hockey ice.

You say you're more determined than ever to "educate" us. Doctor, that's what happened in the repudiation of your misleading petition on Feb. 7 — we got educated and that education spelled out a playpen for you and a narrow special interest group and a huge income tax write off on the donated property by your brother-in- law. This is not about family and children, it's all about you and your ego. Just because I and 88 percent of us don't agree with you, doesn't mean that what we say is misinformation, it's the entire picture, not just your propaganda. Also, the $6,500 bill for your vote reflected the largest turnout in decades here for a single issue special election, equaling that of general elections, 43 percent is about the best you're likely to get.

You can put a dress on and smear lipstick all over its snout, but a pig is still a pig. Hey, wake up and smell the coffee, "Aah-em … it's over, fella."
