The Hope City Council will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday May 14, 2008 beginning at 6:30 p.m. regarding: The elimination of the R-2 Residential District and adoption of two new zoning districts, R-2.5 Rural Residential and R-5 Rural, and related permitted uses, conditional uses and development regulations. The R-2.5 district requires a 2.5 acre minimum parcel size. The R-5 district requires a 5 acre minimum parcel size. Additionally, the City Council will consider the adoption of an amended Zoning Map so as to designate existing R-2 District lands as R-1 Residential and rezone existing R-1 lands on the steeper slopes generally located above existing development as R-2.5 Rural Residential and R-5 Rural. The retaining wall is in two sections, separated by the existing launch ramp. South from the ramp will be a combination panel and redi-block wall approximately 36 feet long. North from the ramp will be a redi-block wall 65 feet long. Base of each wall will be approximately 2.5 feet below the lake’s summer pool level. Each wall will be riprap toed with 24 inch + clean angular rock. Wall height is approximately 7 feet.
