Revamp system so top two are president, veep

| November 10, 2008 8:00 PM

The voting populous of the country, with our popular vote, overwhelmingly voted for "change."

Why not really have a change? Why do we need or have a two-party system and the long outdated Electoral College? Why do we have to put up with candidates campaigning two years before the election and spending millions of dollars on their campaigns, primary elections, and then having those two ridiculous conventions?

Why not let people who want to run for president run and allow them to spend only a set amount of money each over a ninety day period prior to the day of the election? Then when we vote, the person with the most votes will become our new president. The one who gets the second most votes then becomes our vice president. That would sure put a stop to the "good old boy network" on Capital Hill.
