Paul M. Tyler, 81

Paul M. Tyler, 81, of Clark Fork, Idaho, died Thursday, April 8, 2010, at Bonner General Hospital.

He was born Jan. 28, 1929, in Santa Monica, Calif., the son of Irving Tyler of New York and Frances Ryan Tyler of New Jersey.

In his youth the family moved to Pennsylvania, where Paul attended Catholic parochial school and some college.

A veteran of the Korean War, he joined the U.S. Army, where he served as a sniper in the ski patrol unit in Alaska.

 Foll-owing his service he and his family relocated to Las Vegas, Nev., and then California.

Paul was a bartender and carpenter in the Palm Springs, Calif., area, where he met Agnes Salley; they married in Bozeman, Mont., in 1972.

Paul and Aggie took up residence in Clark Fork in 1976 and lived by the Clark Fork River for many years, recently moving into town. 

Paul loved fishing and boating, participating in local derbies.

He and Aggie enjoyed playing cards with friends on a regular basis.

He was a member of the Clark Fork Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Paul always had time to share a story or joke; and has now joined his beloved dogs in rest. 

He is survived by his wife, Agnes, of Clark Fork; a sister, Joan Trudgeon of California; daughters: Jan Daiau of Florida, Linda Valicenti of Florida, Tina LeBrun of California and Amber Lamb of California’ a son: Bill Sanders, of California; a nephew, Pat Trudgeon of California; a niece, Carol McMakin of Maryland; nine grandchildren; and eight great-nieces and great-nephews.
